Title: Horned grebes, Scoters, and lots of black birds...
Post by: bernie2112 on March 18, 2009, 09:20:18 PM
Greetings!
It was a beautiful day to be out. We went to Colonel Sam Smith park in Etobicoke. Over in the south west side entrance to the marina there were about 6 White Winged Scoters and a Surf Scoter. As well we had several close encounters with two Horned Grebes. A big change over watching grey specks in the distance! There were also about a dozen or so Red Necked Grebes calling and showing off. Not to be out done: Red Winged Black birds were calling from, what seemed as,  every bush and arguing with Robins. One Brown Headed Cowbird was a treat: at least for this time of the year!

Cheers,

Bernie
