Title: Canvasbacks back at the Spit, and more.
Post by: jjmb on March 21, 2009, 11:21:25 AM
Out at the Spit early this morning, and was delighted to find 6 and maybe 12 Canvasbacks. As I was heading back in, I passed Triangle Pond and saw 6. Then I saw 6 on the big pond by the marina, but I don't know if they flew faster than I walked.

Also of note: 1 Kingfisher, many Kildeer (saw a few as early as Monday), golden crowned kinglets, GHO, Northern Pintail, Cowbirds, Gadwalls, Redheads, Ring necked ducks, Greater and Lesser Scaups, White winged Scoters, plus lots of the usual Long-Tails, Mergs, and Buffles. And of course all the usual suspects too.

And the serenading of the robins, rwbbs and song sparrows capped off a beautiful morning.

Enjoy the weekend!
