Title: GTA Birding Report
Post by: Anonymous on March 21, 2009, 08:34:09 PM
Saw the usual suspects along with some notables:

Hooded Mergansers
Sharp Shinned Hawk
Gadwalls

And some yet unidentified sparrows and gulls.  I'll be posting some photos shortly of some that I caught except the Hoodies - not enough light to shoot them so I'm heading back in the am to get them.

Hi Attila,

Did you actually bird the entire GTA or was this in a local park somewhere? LOL  I look forward to some photos once I finally scroll down to the "Bird Photo Corner".

Walter,

Started at the airport after a meeting, went to Halls Rd after that then stopped at Frenchmans Bay (where there are still a couple of ring necked ducks in the marsh by the way) and finished off at the Bluffs.

Was a nice day to be out, hoping to head back to the Bluffs this afternoon after heading into work for a couple of hours this am.

Hi Attila,

Nice coverage!  I went down to the Spit yesterday and found 41 different bird species including lots of waterfowl, of course!  A few Cormorants have returned to the area already.  An amazing day to be out.
