Title: re: the Coyote in Toronto area
Post by: egret on March 28, 2009, 01:25:43 PM
What do you think of them trapping this animal?

I realize they have to do this
but why can they not relocate it?

It is cruel to put it down

in my opinion

unless I am missing something

To a zoo or like place now they say. Not sure who decided, but saw fool city counselor say the coyote was too used to people and wouldnt survive on its own. Nonsense! Its taken the easy meals whilst people offer them, clearly it can hunt for itself.  I hope it runs the city employees ragged trying to catch it.

Yeah, I laughed at the outcry of people "oh no, they're going to euthanize it when they trap it". I say YOU GO COYOTE, it's probably too smart to get trapped anyways.  :D  Good call to relocate it rather than killing it, but still, people feeding it are not helping things...

People out here in the country are rolling their eyes and laughing about the amount of coverage Wiley and his mates are generating...

Why is that?

David,

As a city resident, I can tell you why - because the majority of city folk complain about anything that impact their life while encouraging those outside of the city to change their ways and be more gentle towards nature and wildlife.

This is getting insane - now there are reports of coyotes stalking in the rouge valley - something that has been happening ever since coyotes were there, which is a hell of a lot longer than the people were.

Anyone who chooses to walk their dog in an area where they know there are coyotes should never be afforded the opportunity to complain about said coyotes when all they are doing is, in reality, simply acting like they only know how to.

Go find another place to walk your dog.

Wondering though, if that horrible incident out east changed any minds though...and does anyone know the genetic comparison between the Algonquin wolves and the coyotes out east?

i dont' understand this, we (humans) take away natural lands to build buildings and housing and other stuff, then we rebuild a "natural habitat" for WILD LIFE,  then we bitch about the wildlife? i just don't get it....maybe i'm just naive, i thought the coyotes were always there...as far as i remember there was always coyotes, we just never seen them, am i missing something here? and..if you know there's a coyote in the area, why..please please tell me why...would you ever think to walk your mini dogs in that area and continue to do so.and why do we have to relocate the coyote again?..why can't the dog walkers relocate?..ok...going to eat some chocolate to calm down

that's my rant for the day
chocolate is good!

Exactly ... and even worse if the dog is off leash running around!
