Title: Is this a northern flicker?
Post by: skyviewer on April 03, 2009, 12:13:11 AM
Didn't get a great closeup cause it flew off before i could get closer.  Wings are brown with black spotting and a distinctive red patch on the back of its neck.

Nice capture, the red really stands out from the rest of his body and the overcast sky.
