Title: Deformed doves with pics, I HOPE
Post by: Jimbo on April 14, 2009, 12:47:38 PM
Here are the pics of deformed mourning doves. I HOPE. There are about 6 or 7 out of 15 to 20 doves that come to my feeder with this condition. Some have partial upper mandible problem, some with lower mandible problem and some with both. Other than looking like ducks, they appear healthy. Manage to eat seeds and drink from the bird bath.

Is this a common afflictions with modo's? I have not seen it before.

I have about 6 doves here and I haven't seen this deformity in them. They have a hotline here in hamilton to report deformities in birds, it's listed off the hnc website. Here is a link to the london naturalists club http://www.mcilwraith.ca/ (http://www.mcilwraith.ca/)   and this is the London Nature Line:   519-457-4593. I would give them a call or maybe e-mail the pictures incase they are tracking this deformity. Good luck.
