Hi everyone,
I saw this bird fly over my backyard this evening at 7:42. I do not think this is a Barn Swallow because it's tail does not have 2 points sticking out.
Thank you.

BIRD 2:
This bird was at my feeders this evening and I checked my Bird ID book and it was not in there. Could someone please ID this bird.
Thanks.

Hi Cody,
The first bird is likely a Barn Swallow if that's what you thought at first. Sometimes they fly with their tails 'closed'. The second bird is a female Northern Cardinal, have a look in your guide or google image search for it.

Thanks Ian!

Hmm is that a Cedar waxwing?

Iain is correct on both.

The red bill and heavyness thereof suggests female Cardinal to me. Doesn't seem to have the yellow tail band of the C.W. that I can see.

Yup, Iain nailed them.
