Title: red bellied woodpecker in georgetown
Post by: RKD on April 21, 2009, 10:49:52 PM
A red bellied woodpecker has been hanging around our sunflower feeder for three days now. I am only seeing a male bird. Today  I heard him calling his very distinctive call. This is the first one we've ever seen and he's quite interesting to watch, seems to not be too shy either.

I have a mating pair in my backyard 4th line georgetown south, if you have a suit hanger, try and find a variety that has large seeds merged in it and they will hang around like pets.  :)

A feeder with mixed sunflower seeds will also keep them around.
