Title: Cape May in Queen's Park
Post by: Mathieu Siol on May 04, 2009, 01:35:36 PM
Hi all,
a beautiful Cape May Warbler was eating insects in Queen's park today at noon. It was accompanied by 2 Palm Warblers and at least 10 Yellow-rumped Warblers. Also several Chipping Sparrow. It was still there, faithful to a pine tree when I left about twenty minutes ago.

Title: Queen's Park - Feeding Flock
Post by: BC on May 04, 2009, 05:28:37 PM
I must have just missed you. I was watching a large feeding flock in the pines just south of the equestrian monument from about 11:15 - 11:45 am.
This flock was made up of at least three dozen Yellow-rumpeds and two dozen Palms. I missed the Cape May (nice spot) but did see a single female Black-throated Blue.
The Chipping Sparrows were there as well as a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. An aggressive Red-winged Blackbird chased a bird that turned out to be a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak. I doubt I would have seen it if not for the RWBB.
