Title: High Park this Morning - 10 Warbler Species
Post by: Iain on May 13, 2009, 03:22:14 PM
Birded a decent portion of the park this morning between 6:30 and 9am.  The best pocket of warblers was found in a large maple south-east of the tennis courts (north-west of the allotment gardens).  Apart from that, birds popped up in ones and twos.  Here are the highlights:

Yellow Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Magnolia Warbler
Ovenbird
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Nashville Warbler
Bay-breasted Warbler

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Indigo Bunting
Scarlet Tanager
Northern Oriole
Orchard Oriole
Warbling Vireo
Veery
Least Flycatcher
Eastern Kingbird
Great Egret (low flyover)
Pine Siskin
Purple Finch

White-throated Sparrow
White-crowned Sparrow
Swamp Sparrow

Hoping that some good rain overnight will ground more birds overnight.
