Title: Monarch B.fly.
Post by: Ron Luft on May 25, 2009, 12:35:58 PM
Saw my first Monarch at Col. Sam Smith (big bowl) on Friday evening. I'm not as versed on butterflies as birds so I ask; Is that early/late for Monarchs returning?

Accodring to journey north, there have been a number of sitings around already.  Cant say if this is early or late for this year.

Isn't it sad that we are now excited about the "fairly" rare sightings of Monarch Butterflies, when once they were so many about?!!

However, on that note, I actually saw my first one of the season in Ajax down at the Lakeshore Park.
