Title: Ruby throated hummer

I live at 9th line and Eglinton in Mississauga and I counted nine visits by a ruby throated hummer at our backyard feeder. Rather exciting as we were told by several that it would be extremely difficult to attract any in the Mississauga area. I used a sugarwater mixture and dont' have any flowersplants that may have attracted the little guy.

Hi

I have had so many ruby throated hummingbirds this year it is amazing.  The one thing I have also noticed is they are moving fast.  For one week I will have 8 and then they are gone.  Within a couple of days another 3 or 4 will move in.  They are amazing.

Hi there.
This year I finally got some photos of the hummingbirds. They are sitting on the feeders, trees, hydro lines etc.  They seem very different than past years.  I just sit on a stool in the middle of the path and take photos.  I have hundreds of outdoor photos where last year I only had indoor shots.  The fellow above every night would sit on the feeder while I worked at my computer.  As long as  I didn't move to fast he wouldn't leave.

Ann, where are you located? I have gotten home late these evenings and have not noticed if any other hummers have visited my feeder. I'm assuming it was the same bird that was making regular trips to my backyard on Sunday. Hopefully, i'll get a few more during the summer!

Hi there.  I am in the Guild and I continue to get new hummingbirds daily.  I now have 4 in the front feeder and 3 in the back again.  The cycle begins again.  Yahoo.

Ann thanks for the inspiration, I am in Toronto East Queen street area, my feeder has been up for 2 weeks and today I saw my first Ruby Thoated Hummer, I will post pics as soon as I get a chance, ps yours is a great capture!
