Last Sunday I was in Toronto and I was birding in High Park, Sam Smith Park, and Shell Park (Oakville).
High Park was very bad.
Robins
Cardinals
Wood Ducks
Reason: The people I was with would not go in to the forest.
Sam Smith Park:
1 Northern Mocking Bird
Lots of Swallows
Swans
Gulls
1 Unknown Heron (Flying)
1 Eastern Kingbird
Shell Park:
3 Unknown Warblers
2 Cardinals M/F
2 American Goldfinches
1 Rabbit
1 Unknown Bird (Post in Bird ID)
Overall the day could have been better.
I would like to personally thank Jo-Anne (Bird Brain), KPaw, Pat Hodgson, and Niloc for taking their time to give me directions, information and everything I needed to go to High Park and Sam Smith Park. Without them I probably wouldn't of been able to go.
Thank you!

Hey Cody glad you were able to get out, that is the great thing about this site all you have to do is ask and there will be somebody willing to help - cheers!

No problemo, Cody. You're Welcome! :)
Why did they not want to go into the forest?

I was wondering the same thing - why did your group not wish to go into the forest?
At any rate, High Park is a great place and I hope you give it another try another time!
All the best!

I wasn't able to get in to the forest because one of the people with me had a very bad leg and couldn't walk much farther. In the fall or next spring I will be back to High Park!

High Park is a truly beautiful and magical place that I've been visiting since I was a baby! :D Hopefully your next visit there will be better.
