Title: Great Blue Heron and Chestnut sided warbler
Post by: What was that? on June 05, 2009, 06:07:22 PM
One of my better opportunities in the past. My name sake (no, not great blue).

Visited Sauble Falls (roadtrip) watched him/her/it for a while, walked around the falls to get closer and then back again (cos he moved). Eventually got to within 6 feet of it. I laid on a slab of rock for what seemed ages until the camera gave out (at the time it was a sony mavica, burning to CD in camera, slow, slow, slow).

This year my highlight was visiting Point Pelee during birding festival and to learn how 'real' bird watchers do it (Twilight hike and a morning hike).
One of my favourites was the chestnut sided warbler.

New to this flickr thing. My daughter says I should have learnt all this ages ago.
