We saw two deer along the Credit River this afternoon. One was on the island between the railway tracks and the QEW. The other was on the west bank, just north of the QEW. I've never noticed before, but it appears that deer like Cattail leaves. It looks like they have been heavily browsed in the area around the QEW.

Where you on foot when you spotted them and are there any walking trails or paths in the area?

Actually, I was in a canoe. There are no trails along this section. Most of the shoreline in this area is private residential.

I estimate that there are well over 100 deer in mississauga now, and they aren't too hard to spot if you know where to look. Generally they stay along the Credit River valley throughout the City.
If you drive along Old Derry Rd between Creditview and 2nd Line you can usually see the deer wandering around the back of the farmers fields around dusk.
Also if you bring a spot light and drive along Orr Rd (Southdown and Lakeshore) then you will almost certainly find a herd of deer along the fenceline to the Petro Canada property.
