Oddly enough, just this weekend we realized that we had a pair of house finches eating at our oriole feeder. They tended to prefer the grape jelly, although did sample the orange once or twice...
You don't happen to live in Central Etobicoke, do you? (maybe it's the same confused pair ;) )
(the orioles are more interested in the cherries nearby, ATM - but still stop by for an occasional snack...)

Haven't seen the Finches do it, but I have Chickadees that drink from my feeder (bee guards removed)

I noticed my pair of goldfinches "hanging around" the hummingbird feeder but I have yet to see them try to feed. Maybe they are still working out the physics...
Now if I can get these pesky robins out of my strawberry patch!!! A parent bird has been feeding its almost grown fledgling (who has been making a racket) for days now down in the patch outside my window. When does the light go on in the little bird's head that all it has to do is hop over itself and it can have all it wants... birdbrain!
Sorry BirdBrain...
