Two days in a row for updates will hopefully depict how good the Bricksworks has been for the last two days.
Today we returned to the Brickworks. Fairly void of people (except for an ignorant lady playing fetch with her dog in the tall grass, which chased out an angry nesting bird). When we got there, we saw a black crowned night heron flying over the entrance.
When we walked around to the west back pond, we saw a black crowned night heron fishing. It flew into a tree as we got close.
We walked around another pond and stumbled upon another black crowned night heron fishing. We took some amazing pictures (will be posted this weekend and trust me, you will not be disappointed).
In another pond (the west one closer to the front), there was a family of 3 ducks that looked like dull-coloured wood ducks (i have to investigate what they actually were).
Also saw and heard a killdeer and saw the huge turtle and one of the muskrats that live there.
Again, another incredibly satisfying day at the 'Works.

by the way, here's one of the pictures from yesterday (taken by my fiancee):

how sad is it that i've replied to my own post twice? :)
we were at the Brickworks again yesterday for the farmer's market.
there were two - possibly 3 - black crowned night herons. two were fishing in the back west pond (where the "waterfall" is). one was on the little log that's in the water, the other was on the strip of grass that cuts into the pond.

Great shot! Love the water detail...
Westender, so haven't been to the Brickworks often but these posts show me how much I've missed and that I must give it another chance!
Thank you for sharing the wealth and motivation!
