Title: Mockingbird
Post by: Whittam on June 14, 2009, 08:05:53 PM
I've tried  a few times to see the Scarborough Progress ave Mockingbird with no luck.  I had to drive to 8000 Hwy 27 today to a Banquet Hall.  As I stepped out of the car a Mockingbird was calling persistently from the top of the light pole just outside the front door!  Sang/called out for at least 10 min before flying south a little.   The bird returned minutes later to some small pines just north of 8000 Hwy 27.   I suspect it may be nesting there!   Cheers Terry

2 weeks ago, i was biking back from Leslie Spit. heard some rapid-fire calls, and i stopped my bike.
on a utility pole beside the Eastern Car place (2 buildings north of the Spit on the west side of the rd) was a mockingbird.
it put on a nice show.
red-tailed hawk
cardinal
robin
seagull
blackbirds

was really neat to hear.
