Post by: Napper on July 07, 2009, 07:36:59 PM
Hey!

last week while were down   the following things happened at Downsview.

Tuesday, Chimney swifts at 4:00 pm. I was very surprised to see them!

Monday and Tuesday

Kestrels get flying lessons from an adult..  One Kestrel with a fresh kill flying around and Three Juvies/fledgies

following. It could have been 2 adults and two Young ones.. Very noisy lot!

Hey!

They (the Kestrels) fly over the plant that I work at from the direction of the park. I dunno if the construction zone right adjacent the tracks can be accessed yet. The Chimney Swifts were over the plant.

I am also seeing Eastern Kingbird's  and Mocking birds near the tracks.

I am not sure when the new lake/drainage ponds will open for public viewing
