Title: Brickworks Friday 21-08-09

The local GBH flew in at 9.15am to the middle pond. Another flew in 25 min later. Minor altercation resulting in one sitting in a tree sulking. After a while it came down onto the walkway and sat on the planking (then on the ankle height rail). Posed for myself and Ashok (guy I met also taking photos on either side of it) for ages. I went round to the sunny side and got within 15' (need to use panorama stitching to get several photos together, the detail is incredible - I'll post some later).
Just as the overcast clouds cleared (around 10) caught brief glimpses of flickers, cardinals, one possible vireo (not too good on ID'ing brief views). Lot's of goldfinchs around as well as starlings, RWBB's - the usual suspects (at least I can ID the really common stuff. (Oh yeah and a huge turtle around 30" long poked his snout out of the water at me.
