Title: RFI:Chimney Swift Migration?
Post by: BIGFRANK on August 23, 2009, 08:37:26 PM
Today we saw at least 100 Chimney Swifts moving west to east, along the shoreline of Lake Ontario,at Rosetta McClain Gardens(Birchmount and Kingston Rd area). Almost everything we see migrate by the park is going east to west,so Iwonder if anyone knows if Chimney Swifts go a different route?  There has never been more then a handful of Swifts seen all July and August so this isnt a local bunch.

Hi Big Frank: There have been small numbers of swifts passing Hawk Cliff for the past week or so. Nothing on the magnitude of your report but the ones passing Hawk Cliff have been going the right direction ie: East to West. Largest one day number so far is 10 and that was to day.

Keep looking up.

Big Frank:  When is a good time to visit Rosetta McClain Park?  I was there Saturday morning and saw a few Cedar Waxwings.  Thanks.
Jimbo:  Where is Hawk Cliff?  Thank you.
