Wow is all I can say about the Evergreen Brickworks this morning, started off on my quest to photograph the Female Ruby Throated Hummer but before that there were 2 GBH on the walkway, 6 Redtailed Hawks and lots of Goldfinches of course... and then I did see my beloved Hummingbird, some pics attached - enjoy!

Great shots!!
You couldn't ask for a more beautiful morning.
I'll have to make my way to the brickworks one day very soon.
I'll be checking out the Spit this Sunday and I'm hoping to capture some shots like the amazing ones you and others have posted.
Thank you for the inspiration to get out and do some birding!!

Thanks Meghan, your words are also an inspiration for me to keep at it!!!!

looks like you got your wish and the female ruby throated humming bird posed for you so nice!!
Great pictures :D
The wet finch is way too cute btw

What great shots of the red tail. You must have been incredibly patient to get those pics of the hummingbird. I really like the one hovering in the jewel weed.

SIX red-tailed hawks?? wow...usually i've seen them fly in threes. cool that they brought some friends.
great hummingbird pics. they look really big.
may try to get to the BW this weekend.
morning or afternoon, do you suggest?

Thanks Misty, I was just thrilled to get some half descent pics...the wet Finch was a bonus as I was in the process of stocking the hummer!

Thanks Moira took me 1.5 hours of standing in the same spot if you can believe it, in the sun too, finally she came but I could not get a lock on her, I gave up and went in the shade and then walked back to the same spot and as I walked up she was feeding then when she was done she went up and a branch and started grooming, all quite exciting...

Thanks , she is well fed for a Hummer to get and idea she is about a 1/4 the size of a Goldfinch...anyway you know the spot as Moira pointed out it is Jewel weed, may I suggest anytime after 12:00 noon as the sun will be over you right shoulder and behind you so you should be able to take pics facing the bushes with good lighting, unfortunetely the bushes that overlook the pond is also a favorite feeding spot but you would have to be in the water to get anything lol...good luck .
