Title: Help Name the Heron

Seen at Col. Sam Smith Park, around 7:30 in the evening in the pond

I'm just not sure what type of heron this is...is it the Green Heron?

It looks to me like a young Black crowned night heron.

isn' it late in the season for juvenile herons?

They won't change into the full adult plumage till probably next year.

oh nice! I didn't know that, still learning about the Herons which is great, they are fun to watch
