This guy lives at my work for the season every year and stalks the ponds and catch basins for food. He only ever seems to pose for me on the roadways and concrete walls around here. Here is a few of those shots.

Meg I still can't believe the timing on that bird lol
The one where he just landed on the road is a perfect shot.
I still can't believe he flew over to check out what you were doing!

Thanks Crystal!
I finally got him!!
Now I just have to catch him in one of the ponds.

I hear you about the keeping a steady hand. It's a challenge! I like the 4th picture - looks like he's ready for the runway.
-
I found the Heron and the Egret in High Park were also acting up for the cameras, its like they know they are being admired so they ham it up.
-
Moira, I like the 4th shot as well, my favorite of this group...water would be an added bonus but Can't have everything right? I've gotten a tripod now...time to try it out. Hopefully I can take some clear shots now.
Ravynne, I'll be at High Park one morning this week, so hopefully the show will continue. Grenadier Pond right?
Thanks folks

Meg, I'm not sure how familiar you are with High Park. I have found something everytime at the north end of Grenadier Pond. There is a fallen tree - ver close for a photo. There was a Great Egret and Great Blue Heron on the south duck ponds (by Parkside Drive and the Queensway). Have fun!

My friend was there on sunday and said that the herons were there still and that the wood ducks had spring plumage?
it is most definitely worth the trip.
