Title: Please help i.d. this bird
Post by: linda on September 12, 2009, 05:31:03 PM
It's about the size of a crow.  The eyes, small beak, and legs/feet are orange/red.  It's back is tan and the wings have white and brown stripes. The head is dove/gull shaped with a strong distinctive black mask stripe across the eyes that joins back up at the neck/breast.  The lower half of the face (below the beak) is white.  Any ideas?

What do you know...I found out it's a Chukar.  I have know idea where it came from, but it certainly doesn't belong in a residential neighbourhood!  Does anyone know whom I should contact about this situation?
