This week thanks to Ian Cannell, Alfred Adamo and Margaret Liubavicius The Islands produced some notable birds as well as some new ones for the season but maybe the best part of the week was the great weather. With Labour Day behind us The Islands have quieted down a lot as far as the crowds of people are concerned. In the early morning we mainly see employees and a resident or two.
Again with a huge thanks to the above mentioned birding companions we came up with the following birds which are just some of the ones we found.
Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Turkey Vultures, Sharp-shined, Cooper's, Broad-winged and Red-tailed Hawks, A. Kestrels, Merlins, Peregrine Falcon, Caspian Terns, R-T Hummingbirds, Belted Kingfishers, Y-B Sapsuckers, many N. Flickers, E. Wood-Pewees, Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, Least Flycatchers, many E.
