Title: egrets just of north Toronto
Post by: Howieh on September 25, 2009, 12:06:23 AM
I stopped by at Oakbank pond (north side of Center Street between Yonge and Bathurst) and I met a photographer who told me I could find egrets near Bayview and Elgin Mills but of course I forgot to find out their exact location! Has anyone seen them near that intersection? I'll be picking up some plumbing supplies on Elgin Mills so finding the egrets would be a real bonus! I wonder if he was referring to Richmond Green which is actually at Elgin Mills and Leslie?

Incidentally, he was shooting with a 500mm lens and he showed me a great shot of an osprey taken about two minutes before I arrived. We got some good shots of the resident GBH but, unfortunately, the osprey did not return before I left.

When I used to hike at
Mill Pond up Richmond Hill
sometimes, I'd see some there
at the various locations

Egret ... my stepdad lives just up the street from Mill Pond.  Have walked there many times - a beautiful location.

Hi Joanne:

It is a lovely spot
they used to have Swans there
:(( though something happened to a pair of them
once

Over the years, it has changed
like all places

Love some of the old homes

Egret :)
