Hi everyone.
Well, today's adventure started up at 8:30am at Lake Aquitaine. Heard a very loud hammering/pecking sound, looked up into a pine tree expecting to see a Woodpecker - instead, saw a Crow and squirrel having a showdown, both wanting the same branch on the tree.
I was quite surprised to see that it was the irked Crow making all the hammering/pecking sounds! Anyone else ever heard one doing this? After this, he started "caw-ing" up a storm!
Quite an amusing start to the day. :D After this, headed down to Lake Wabukayne and walked around the lake a couple of times. Walked back up to Lake Aquitaine and walked around this lake a couple of times as well. Saw lots of the following birds at both locations:
Blue Jays
Cardinals - males and females
Chickadees
Crows
Gulls
Mallards - males and females
Mourning Doves
Red-breasted Nuthatches
Robins
Sparrows
At Lake Wabukayne, also saw 3 male Black Ducks.
At Lake Aquitaine, also saw Canada Geese.
Lots of squirrels at both lakes.
Finally got home at 12:30pm and couldn't believe 4 hours had flown by in the blink of an eye! Time flies when one is having fun!
