Lots of chipping sparrows and junco's coming thru the yard the last few days.
I do have some resident WB Nuthatches, Hairy WP, Blue Jays, Crows, Starlings, and oddly enough, no House Sparrows.
We had Chimney Swifts for a few weeks when we first moved in, but they've moved on now. I hope they'll be back.
I was very happy to hear and see a Pileated Woodpecker this morning, first working on the telephone pole, then on a maple. This is just in the courtyard of our townhouse complex. I hope it's going to be a resident.

Is that a crow or raven standing right behind it ?
What was the story there ?

The crow is the union boss :)
It was harassing the Pileated, rather funny as it marched up and down the next branch watching the it. It followed the Pileated for quite a while. I wasn't able to follow when they both flew off, the rain didn't help either.
