Hi everyone.
Today at 3pm, I was walking around Lake Aquitaine and stopped to watch some Red-breasted Nuthatches hopping around in a pine tree.
Something just to the left of the tree trunk caught my eye, looked like an unusual branch. All of a sudden, I realized this grey "branch" has ear tufts and is looking at me with yellow eyes. It was a very small grey owl, cute little guy/girl. 2 seconds later, it disappeared! I was looking up along the trunk of the tree to see if I could see any holes that the owl might have disappeared into but didn't see anything obvious.
Anyhow, this is the first time I've ever seen an owl up here at Lake Aquitaine so this is quite exciting! :D
