Title: Turkey vulturefest along Don River Oct 13 afternoon
Post by: mr.sharp-photo on October 14, 2009, 09:03:15 AM
anyone else see the 7-10 turkey vultures circling around Richmond and Jarvis yesterday at 1:45 PM? was very strange.

at 2:45, I also saw a few more when i was heading up the DVP at York Mills.  I MAY have also seen a bald eagle with them....was driving and only caught a glimpse. didn't notice presence/lack of white tail, but saw a white head (could have been a lighter TV) and what appeared to be a slightly different body shape while gliding.

TVs will use any updraft to gain height before travelling longer distances. They were probably in the process of migrating and found a useful updraft around there.
