Hi everyone.
Today, I counted at least 500 Ladybugs on the balcony and outside of windows. A few have been flying around inside the apartment. :D

I second that! They are everywhere here in the west end too! High Park had them flying around to the point where you had to swat them off your clothes. I heard on the news they are craving warmth right now and will bite if they land on skin. They congregate around lights in your house or apartment if they happen to get in. They might be pretty but enough is enough! Although better than those annoying little black flies that seemed to be everywhere only a few weeks ago also!

So far today, only about a dozen.
Yes, the ones inside the apartment are flying around the lights above the dining room table.
They will bite?!
A nice change to see Ladybugs instead of hornets and wasps. Arrgh!

We too had many ladybugs yesterday in Georgetown. And yes they do bite but I think only when you see them in masses.

Hi Jo-Anne ,
I've had a lot of these in my backyard for the past couple of days - a couple flew close to entering my ears . Too bad we didn't have them in the spring - my honeysuckle and cherry tree leaves suffered severe damage from aphids. A few years back the import ladybugs (brought in to control aphids) were real biters .

Cripes! re: biting.
Ladybugs are really pretty little critters but it sounds like Cathy in the following article doesn't agree.

Jim ... omg, re: ears! Just like when I was a little kid and a Yellowjacket got inside my ear and stung. To this day flying, stinging insects are my #1 major phobia! :(
