I have a picture
of a bird that was found on my driveway one morning. It looked like it had been hit by a car. My husband and I have never ever seen this type of bird before. It has a very long thin beak, about 2inches long,
it's body is about
11 inches long, and it is
brown with black almost a brindle look to it. It also has very sturdy legs, sort of like a chicken foot. I would show you a picture but I cannot seem to copy or paste a picture in this box. Can someone explain how to attach a picture?

To post your photo/s you must first upload them to the internet. You can use the Photo Gallery on this website or any other website that allows you to post and view pics. Then open the pic in a seperate browser window and copy its address. Paste the address (which must end in .jpg), then highlight it and click the 'img' button (found with the other buttons below the Subject Text Box). It should look something like this:

Hope that was clear enough.

Sounds like a Woodcock to me. If you go to Google, click on images then enter "Woodcock" into the search box, you can see some pics. Or...you could just check your field guide. :D
