Title: Mink at Lake Wabukayne
Post by: Bird Brain on November 23, 2009, 07:30:02 PM
Hi everybody.

Today at 3pm, far East end of Lake Wabukayne (closest to Erin Mills Pkwy.) ... a Mink sitting on a log for approximately 5 minutes with a female Mallard sitting at the other end of the same log - this was quite a sight!

Just to the right of the Mink was the beautiful male Wood Duck swimming around, following a female Mallard like a love sick puppy.

I haven't seen a Mink at Lake Wabukayne for at least 6-7 years so this was a very pleasant surprise!  :D

Jo-Anne  :)

Lake Wabukayne:  NE corner of Glen Erin Dr./Windwood Dr., behind the condo and school.

Jo-Anne:  This sounds like a great park.  Mink is also on my list to see and hopefully get a picture.  You must really enjoy your walks.

Moira ... it's a scenic and relaxing lake/park to visit.
It usually takes me about 20-30 minutes to walk there from the apartment - due to stopping along the way to look at birds, squirrels, etc.

I love getting outside for daily nature walks and birding!  :D
