The mockingbird stayed for 2 days in my backyard last week, munching on tree berries

Thanks Jo-Anne .
The next time you go to Niagara, watch for hawks perched in trees or on lamp standards along the QEW starting just before the Burlington bridge and right through to the Falls . Saw ( as pointed out by Lyla ) 13 and some of them quite close to the highway . Most were red tails although from their silouettes 2 sightings might have been owls.

Hi Robin - welcome to the birding forum .
The bird is a yellow-headed blackbird, not seen too often around our area . It is mostly a mid-west bird . The one I photoed this past spring came into my backyard with a flock of about 20 red-winged blackbirds and probably had migrated with them . It stayed for a couple hours, then flew off with the flock when they had cleaned out my feeders. It was pretty exciting having it around even for a short time.
Thanks,
Jim
