Amazing photos. I have done many a hike lately searching for these little guys but i am yet to find one out my way. Are these at Amhurst? Hope you don't mind me asking but any suggestions on what types of trees or areas to look in would be appreciated. I've been lucky with a barred and 4 great horned owls so i guess i shouldn't complain. I love the colour in the eyes. I got some close shots of the great horned and barred owl but they came up with dark eye sockets. The yellow in the eyes adds so much to the pic.

I normally find them in Jack pines, all of these were taken on Amherst Island.

its a shame that Amherst is 3.5 hrs from Toronto :(
-
thanks jtf i guess i'll keep looking or take the drive to amherst
