Title: Good day at Lambton Woods
Post by: JW Mills on January 08, 2010, 05:49:35 PM
I parked at James Gardens lot. There was a conifer shrub about 15 ft away. As I exited the car a Kestrel swooped down under the bush. There was some wing flapping and then it flew off with something in it's claws. I lost it in the trees.

Also saw;
Canada Geese
Mallards
Black ducks - 1 pair I think
Common Merganser - 2 pair
Crows - 2
Cardinals - 2 pair
Robins - close to 20 all roosting together
Hairy + Downy woodpeckers -7 or 8 of each
Chickadees - 12 or so
Nuthatches - 4
Brown Creepers - 2
Juncos - 12 or so
Sparrows - too many to count

Sounds good! I like walking there, it's a nice spot for birding. Careful when there's ice though, I got ice cleats specifically because of that place.
