It was pretty quiet today out on the Spit, yet plenty of birders. I met up with a dozen or so.
Except for the regular ducks, I saw a Great horned owl, a group of 40 or so Am. tree sparrows, and six White-winged scooters.

it was quiet there on saturday as well. saw the GHO and it DEFINITELY did not want any human company coming anywhere within 150 ft of it. people saw it flying all morning and i disturbed it when i was 150 ft or so away from it. walked "closer" after it flew and, again, it flew away when i was nowhere close to it.
i then left it alone and let it get some sleep.
lots of woodpeckers as well.
