Absolutely stunning Paul (as usual).  Do you know him now - it looks like he's posing for you in #3!  These are fantastic.  I was there today as well - certainly didn't see this!  I am very happy with my day though.   Congrats!!

Fantastic shots of the snow, is this a young male or female? can we tell? and I agree with Moira, looks like he's saying "Hey, I'll smile for the camera!"

Thanks for the link to that site Paul, doesn't really make it easier does it? LOL
other then size, females are usually bigger and if she's next to the male there's no positive way of telling if its a  young male or female
I'm going to lean towards female though.

why does everyone think this your secret pet? LOL

LOL I actually had one fly over the house here in Kingston one evening. Many birders have made trips to see one and other owls with no luck.  I post so many that they think their my pets :)

Pets or not Paul, this is an awesome series of shots.
It's all in luck and timing.
Being so close you can make the trip often, and photos like these are your reward.
