Quail in a tree

Are you certain it wasn't a partridge.  Was it a pear tree?

Moira - was a nice day to be out - not too many photos, just more about observing and studying more today than anything, as well as contacting property owners for permission for future photo opportunities.

GStuart - definitely not a partridge, definitely a ruffed grouse.  Pear tree?? lol  nope, it was feeding on an oak tree, what is was munching on I'm not certain of.  Sibley's guide says tree buds, and it was in a deciduous forest, so I'm leaning towards that.
