You guys are killing me with all the sightings of Pileateds and pictures. #1 is fantastic - incredibly sharp, colour great - one of the best I've seen for sure. Congrats! Colour me green :)

I been lucky enough to see a Pileated several times and even snap some pics but nothing like this!

Thanks again for the comments everyone, it is a rare find, but we were lucky to observe him for a couple of hours that day, he was constantly on the move pounding away
looking for food, going from tree to tree he didn`t sit still for one second, but what a beauty.
