Post by: Halton Hills on October 16, 2006, 11:06:53 PM
.

Common behaviour......though this was the first time I'd observed it

Spotted last week along Hwy. 25

Quite a sight.......very creepy looking from a distance    :D

I have seen similar behaviour from a turkey vulture on the east side of highway 6 about 10 minutes north of the town of Durham....same tree on several occasions...I assume it was the same bird....striking sight.

Ahh...have answer now....its to sun themselves...most often done in a.m. I note that your pix were of bird on dead tree...just as the bird I see...its a very tall dead tree...
