Seen down at the Scarborough Bluffs lagoon - one of 3 separately identified mature gulls present. Approximately 4 or 5 juveniles present as well, along with a couple of juvenile great black backed gulls.

Great shots of an infrequent visitor Attila
-
great capture attila.

Thank you Scott and Denis - it was neat to watch its antics while on the ice flow. I can't wait until I pick up the 400mm, it'll help with the range quite well.
Over the last couple of years I've noticed a big juvenile presence in the lagoon, but this is the first time I've seen the mature adults at the location. Hopefully that's a sign of better things to come, with a greater variety of gulls hopefully calling this place their winter home.

attila the 400 will sure be nice.
what lens are you currently using?
-
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM - not a great lens by any means, but I picked it up more to learn than anything.
-
Wow Attila thanks for sharing, I spent all last winter there and never saw one!
-
Thanks Colin - I guess they finally figured out that if it's good enough for the kids, it's good enough for the adults. :)
They seemed to be right at home and took to the air quite a bit but just out of range for the glass that I have - perhaps you with some better glass would be able to get some decent flight shots of them as they cruise the lagoons.
-
Great find and captures well done.
Good luck with the 400.
-
Thanks for your comments, they are appreciated.

attila!
that,s the very lens that came with my first canon rebel xt.it,s o.k. as you say,but you will find a very big difference with the 400. it will knock your socks off,in comparison.especially good for BIF.as i,m sure you did your research on it. hey,if it,s good enough for ART MORRIS,i,m sure it will do the job for us.

Couldn't have put it any better Denis, and you're absolutely correct!
Looking forward to a nice long season this year!
