a few pics taken at lambton woods, while looking for the pileated for over 5 hrs., with no luck.these are my consolation prizes, for my efforts.still any day out in the woods, sure beats the heck out of working! i,ve never seen an area with so much bird activitity, this winter, especially the large number of downie, and hairy woodpeckers.
WBN i really like his choice of perch

my lady noticed that someone's spread suet all over trees all along the path.
that was kind of funny.

I thought the suet was very clever of someone - it sure seems to work in attracting the various woodpeckers. I know when you hang the suet feeders, the raccoons, squirrels, etc. seem to get at them before the birds can.
I am envious of your Brown Creeper pic - I've been trying for a while now. Congrats!

thanks moira.
they sure are a challenge, constantly on the move.
-
Nice shots!
Especially the Creeper!
As for the suet I've seen a lot of other birds partaking as well.
-
thanks john.
he was my consolation prize, for the day.
