spent a bit of time at halls rd this week-end,trying the 7-d with 400 f/5.6, as a flight combo,and also static shots. the weather was great,i met our very own moira,and a bunch of other birders.these are a few that i had time to process.
this gal was actually near the harbour in whitby

female harrier(i hid and waited in a field for over 1 hr,to get this shot}

i noticed my pics were a bit soft,so i did some static shots,on tripod,and determined,it was operator error,and not the gear.
a few of my favourite sparrows.

Nice shots! Love the Harrier shot, it's got a mood to it!
-
thanks
it needed a lot of processing,as it was almost dark when i got it,and it was deep orange with the sun hitting it.

Good work Denis. It was great to finally "really" meet. I went on my first in-flight training trip yesterday - off the tripod, shooting manual and bif's - it was a challenge to say the least.
-
thanks moira.
good for you. you can teach me,once you,ve mastered the flight shots.

Great series Denis, with the last American Tree Sparrow being the favourite. I'm at Halls Road a lot so I'll look forward to meeting you some time.
