Today on the outskirts of Long Sault Conservation Area I watched while a large female red-tail pilfered a meal from a merlin. In my heart I was hoping the merlin would make it to some cover in a nearby jack pine but alas the red-tail knew what it was about... an easy lunch!
I also spotted a horned lark, a male red-bellied woodpecker, a female hairy and a northern shrike that had just caught some unfortunate bird.
Cheers

Sorry if I was uncelar. It was from a merlin.
