Title: Female Cardinal at Lambton Woods
Post by: Rob'in'To on March 11, 2010, 08:16:11 PM
Okay, my first attempt at posting one of my favorite photos I've taken this winter.  A female Northern Cardinal who sat nicely for me, just over my head, in Lambton Woods in mid-February.

One of my favourite birds and fairly elusive to get a good picture.  Congrats.

Yes, they are often elusive; but some days they just surprise me with how brave they can be too.  This one sat on a branch just above me, looking down, and I recon she knew I had food...  after some photo-taking, I tossed a handful of black oil sunflower seed down and she went right for them.  It definitely was a special moment.
