Today (Sat march 13) I had 2 spring firsts....I heard a sandpiper and saw a chipmunk. I also so some sort of falcon -- seemed a little larger than a kestrel -- chasing a small bird, but I'm not sure if falcons migrate or not so not sure if that's a spring first.
Seems like the robins are a little slow in returning.
How about yourselves?

Falcon, little larger than a Kestrel, chasing a bird, sounds like it could have been a Merlin.
Spring firsts:
Common Grackle, Mar 6, Onion Fields, Point Pelee
Red-winged Blackbird, Mar 6, Hillman Marsh
American Robin, Mar 11, Chatham
American Goldfinch, Mar 9, Chatham (Haven't seen them earlier this year)
Tundra Swan, Mar 10, Chatham (migrating north)
