Hi I am posting this in this section and removing it from the reports area.
Please help me identify this duck, seen flying in the Port Credit area today

Hi Nigil,
The bird in your photo is a female Common Goldeneye. The head is typical of goldeneyes and the plumage narrows it down to female. The closely related but rarer Barrow's Goldeneye has a bill that is mostly yellow. This bill is only tipped with yellow making it a Common Goldeneye. Another point of identification is the large amount of white on the secondary feathers. I really like the photo as well with the rough surf in the background. Lastly to display the photo within the message, the photo link has to end with 'jpg'.

Thanks a lot Iain
That explains it. I was expecting a brighter ring around the neck.
Your photographs are exception. Wow the egrets in high park blew me away.
I dont think I get the phot link yet. Maybe it cannot be doen from flickr? let me try

Thanks for having a look at my website Nigil, I appreciate the nice feedback!
As for posting the photos to this forum, I believe it is difficult to do with Flickr accounts because of the way Flickr links the photos. Alternatively, you can just post the link to the photo using the 'URL' button.

Nigil,
I deleted your thread from the Toronto Reports section. Next time, ask a moderator to move your post instead of double posting. Thanks.
