Hello everyone. I did some birding on my own today. Like many of you know by now I’m not an expert in this field, at least not yet. Humber Bay Park and Sam Smith Park were places of my camera shooting trip.

Hi Marek. I think your green heron is actually a juvenile black crowned night heron.

Hi Marek. Thanks for sharing your photos. I think your Common Mergansers are Red Breasted Mergansers.

Thank you.
Juvenile Black Crowned Night Heron it is. The eye is red, Green Heron's eye is yellow. Like I sad, i'm not an expert. However it doesn't excuse me from buying myself a proper book.
Common or Red Brested, females look the same to me (smile).

Hi Marek,
Nice shots!
I looked at some of the others too and "Common Merganser3" (number 11 of 24) are actually Hooded Mergansers. They are smaller and much darker than the other two species.
Was the Ruddy Duck at Sam Smith or Humber Bay?

Humber Bay.
